ORIGIN STORY

Jazz Marie aka Vevna Forrow founded Dipity Lit Mag back in the first week of September 2022, shortly after the launch of the Hummingbird Blink: Nectar Poetry podcast and a chat about Stephen Cosgrove's book "Serendipity." Dipity Lit Mag aims to shine a light on a wide array of underrepresented voices from different parts of the world, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, creators with disabilities, and also those from Instagram, or aspiring poets of all ages. We accept unpublished poetry of all styles i.e. haikus, art, prose, spoken audio, and short fiction stories from around the world. Short stories are the exception of previously published ones, and our community bonus shares section calls. Additionally, we spotlight discovered unique writing styles through bonus sections and musicians who are supportive of the poetry world. Dipity leverages visual morph art, photography, and experimental digital collage work in each issue. Dipity values human kindness, exposing heartfelt truths, and taking time to have fun in writing while pushing traditional boundaries. We have print and digital series and an extension of our magazine is Dipity Press, where we publish themed chapbooks each year too. Our legacy issues are no longe distributed through online bookstores, but they are available still in both Blurb's bookstore and The Great British Bookshop if you search "Dipity" or under Dipity Literary Magazine, before we shortened our name.
